TVR 400, Research Project

Each student will conduct a complete research project (including defining problem, designing study, collecting and analyzing data, and discussing meaning of findings) and write it up in APA thesis style. The paper will contain the following parts:

Chapter 1. Introduction

a. Problem statement
b. Definition of terms
c. Significance of the study
d. Limitations

Chapter 2. Review of the Literature

Find at least 7 references related to the topic and write a brief review of the literature section. Remember to avoid unnecessary quotes, cite all references, and include page numbers for direct quotations.

Chapter 3. Methodology

a. Sample (describe the sample; you may use a sample of convenience)
b. Instruments (describe all questionnaires, interview schedules, tests, etc.)
c. Data collection procedures (how will data be collected?)
d. Data analysis procedures (what statistical procedures will you use?)

NOTE: Fill out human subjects form, if appropriate, BEFORE collecting any data!

Chapter 4. Findings

Describe the results, using tables and figures as needed. Leave speculation as to meaning to Chapter 5.

Chapter 5. Discussion

Discuss the meaning of your findings in the context of the literature reviewed. Cite references as needed, but this is where YOU can introduce your own ideas about your study.

References.

This is an absolute requirement! Credit your sources in correct APA format.

This paper should be no longer than necessary to present your study. Papers this length would not normally be divided into chapters, however we want you to become familiar with thesis style.
